Gail asks: How do I sell my stock video online? Some people in the image and design community make money selling video as stock footage. Tons of designers I know look for royalty-free stock images, and it is a great way for an artistic talent to make extra money.
How can a videographer sell stock video online? Are there sites out there that offer just video footage to purchase to and sell from?
Answer: Absolutely! Here’s our master list of websites that buy your stock video footage or stock video clips:
Shutterstock Footage

Artgrid
Relatively new to the stock video market game but they are offering a pretty generous commission structure.
Their contributor dashboard is simple to use, making it quick and easy to upload footage. In addition to all of this Artgrid’s story-driven approach to stock gives cinematographers much more creative freedom.

For each license a customer purchases, contributors earn a royalty, which is a percentage of the price paid by the customer.
Earnings can differ, but, the more content you have in your portfolio that customers need, the more opportunities you’ll have to gain earnings.
Dissolve
Dissolve is kind of picky when it comes to the types of footage they accept. They tout taking their time to curate it all. They’re looking for content creators from different backgrounds that care about their work as much as we do.
They don’t really say the percentage of sales contributors make – if it is there it’s not easy to find.
VideoHive
VideoHive is part of Envato Market. Signing up to an account on VideoHive will let you access an entire network to sell your goodies on.
Every time an item sells on Envato Market, the author of that item earns income!
How much depends on whether you’re selling exclusively with Envato Market (you make more if you do!) and on your all-time earnings (the more you’ve sold, the more you make!)
